Hit the Fx button on the PO diagram in the app, and suddenly the button texts get a makeover with the names of the effects. Can’t remember which button combo copies your current pattern on a PO? Join the club! Just smash the Write button on the diagram, and watch the Pattern button transform into “Copy Pattern,” along with any other buttons feeling jealous, like the A and B knobs. This living manual is a chameleon; if you poke the Chords button on the PO Arcade, it proudly displays the chord names on all the buttons, like a proud parent showing off their child’s report card. The EPs play along too! Oh, and don’t worry; there’s a helpful tidbit about syncing with other models when you first pick a model, because who doesn’t need a little guide on how to get all their gadgets to play nice?

Ever tried to whip up a whole song but find yourself scratching your head, wondering which part is the intro, verse, or chorus? Trust me, I’ve been there, too! That’s why I whipped up this app—because if I had a dollar for every time I forgot my own song structure, I’d have enough to hire a butler just to remind me! In this handy app, you can create your projects and name your sections, like “Verse 1,” “Chorus,” or even go rogue with a custom label like “My Totally Amazing Section.”

For a Pocket Operator project, strap in and get ready for the rollercoaster of pattern-making! First, hit that flashy Pattern button like it owes you money, and you’ll be prompted to name your section or channel your inner artist and come up with something wacky. After that, choose the pattern sequence that shouts out, “I’m fabulous!” and voila, you’ve just birthed your first section! But if you decide you’re not feeling the vibe anymore, fear not—just channel your inner Pocket Operator guru, press the Special Key, and Pattern to give that section the ol’ heave-ho!

For your EP project, just hit SHIFT – COMMIT (MAIN) and voilà, you’re in the naming game! Pick a name for your section like it’s the most important decision of your day—because it kind of is! Then, use those shiny numeric keys to make sure you’re selecting the right Scene, or else you might end up in the mystical realm of the wrong project. And if you’re feeling a little too attached to a section, simply click ERASE and MAIN, and with a wave of your virtual wand, choose which section to banish to the land of deleted things. Easy peasy, right?

Then, assign a pattern/sequence for a PO or a scene for an EP and stash that in your project. The best part? You can drag and drop your sections like you’re a DJ at a party, arranging your song like it’s a game of musical Tetris. And when you’re ready to show off your masterpiece, just hit “Play” on the PO or EP diagram to witness the glorious chaos of your song order!

Also, why not stash your data syncs from your PO (the “3” series squad) inside a project like it’s a secret treasure? Record directly in the app and then when you want to restore your project, send it back to your PO. You might need an audio interface like the EP-136 KO Sidekick—it’s like the trusty sidekick we all wish we had (just without the cape). Recording directly in the app is a breeze on iOS—it’s like a walk in the park; meanwhile, on Android, it’s more like a hike up a steep hill, sometimes it’s not so reliable. But fear not…you can always upload a glorious victorious audio file recorded via more reliable means to your project. So Android fans…you are not left out completly. But hey, playback from either OS is a stellar experience!
